Route 15 reopens after Lycoming County crash

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Thursday evening a portion of Route 15 in Lycoming County reopened after a crash.

PennDOT advised drivers Route 15 Southbound at the Route 220 Southbound Exit in Williamsport was closed after a vehicle crash.

Driver who fled multi-vehicle crash on I-80 apprehended

Drivers can take a detour using Route 220 southbound, Reach Road, Route 220 northbound, and Interstate 180 for the time being, according to PennDOT.

Man allegedly causes stand-off, refuses to leave house

JERSEY SHORE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is being charged after police say he refused to leave his mother's house and threatened to use a weapon leading to a stand-off.

On Wednesday around 11:45 a.m. offices were called to the 300 block Glover Street in Jersey Shore for a disturbance involving a mother and son, according to the Lycoming Regional Police.

Once on the scene officers said a woman claimed her front door was forced open by her son, Matthew Munro, 38, who was acting agitated.

Man wanted for alleged Philly homicide arrested in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force announced the arrest of a Philadelphia murder suspect in Williamsport.

The U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force stated on Wednesday in Williamsport, they located and arrested a man wanted for a June 2022 homicide in Philadelphia.

Teen charged with Edwardsville apartment shooting

Police say Calvin Solomon, 34, was wanted by the Philadelphia Police on homicide, abuse of a corpse, and firearms charges.

Crosscutters announce their upcoming ticket sale

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Crosscutters announced their opening night and single-game ticket sale.

According to the press release, opening night and single game tickets will go on sale May 1 at 10 a.m. June 4 the Crosscutters will open at home against Mahoning Valley Scrappers, continued in the release.

Officials say you can buy tickets at the Crosscutters box office at Journey Bank Ballpark during preseason Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. along with 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Saturdays in May.

Two Hyundais stolen within a week in Montoursville

MONTOURSVILLE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police in Lycoming County are warning the public of recent car thefts likely targeting Hyundais and Kias.

Officials say the first Hyundai was stolen overnight on April 23 in the 300 block of Mulberry Street in Montoursville. The second was stolen overnight on April 27 in the 10 block of North Montour Street, just a half mile from the theft four days prior.

MONTOURSVILLE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A 12 year-old-boy from Montoursville is making quite an impact in his community.

Nolan Wurster has raised thousands of dollars for his local fire department.

Nolan has a love for fire trucks. It started at a young age after a visit to a firehouse with his dad.

"My dad took me down to the firehouse one day when I was about four and I just started liking the fire company," Nolan said.

Democrat Waldman to face incumbent Congressman Dan Meuser in November election 

(WHTM) - Democrat Amanda Waldman will once again look to unseat Republican Congressman Dan Meuser in the November 5 election. 

Waldman and Meuser both ran unopposed in the April primary to represent Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, which stretches from Lebanon County up to the Northern Tier and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The district totals all or parts of 12 counties. 

Penn College students help out at the Kentucky Derby

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania College of Technology announced they will provide gourmet dining to the VIP spectators at the Kentucky Derby.

According to Penn College of Technology, 26 of their student were selected for Derby Week after an interview given by staff from Levy Restaurants.

Officials say the baking and culinary art majors students will work in the kitchens while those majoring in business administration will be in the front with guests.

PD: Man out on bail leads police on chase through Lycoming County

OLD LYCOMING TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police arrested a man they say led officers on a chase for several miles while under the influence of crack cocaine.

On April 19, the Lycoming Regional Police Department said they arrested 60-year-old David Miller, of Lycoming Township, for fleeing a traffic traffic stop while under the influence.
