Montoursville hosts license plate return event

MONTOURSVILLE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania State Police Montoursville will host a free license plate return event to replace peeling or unreadable plates.

State Police and Representative Hamm's office will host the event on October 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the PSP Montoursville barracks at 899 Cherry St. Montoursville, PA.

According to a release, license plates that are unreadable or peeling will be replaced for free. All paperwork will be done and mailed at the event at no charge.

Arrest made in Georgia after threats to schools in NEPA

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they have arrested a juvenile in Georgia who made social media posts threatening violence to schools in northeastern Pennsylvania.

According to the Scranton Police Department, in a joint investigation with the Savannah, Georgia Police Department, a juvenile male, no age given, was arrested after police say he made numerous social media posts, on multiple platforms threatening school violence.

Officials say the threats identified schools in Lackawanna County and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Two charged with theft, assaulting an officer

MOUNT POCONO, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two Monroe County men have been arrested after allegedly stealing from Weis Markets and then fighting a police officer.

On September 12 Gabriel Valle, 19, and Xaziver Valle were both charged with aggravated assault after an incident with a police officer dealing with a theft call from Weis Markets.

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing several charges after police say an argument led to shots being fired in Lycoming County.

On September 10, police were called to a home on Isabella Street for an argument involving a gun.

Police detained 20-year-old Dominic Sanso and several other individuals inside the home.

Man arrested after allegedly making terroristic threats in Lackawanna County

Investigators claim Sanso began to assault a woman during an argument and fired a shot through a window.

Street closures for 9/11 memorial ride in Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Street closures for the 9/11 memorial ride in Williamsport have been released as many come together to honor victims and first responders.

On Wednesday, September 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lycoming County will be hosting a memorial motorcycle ride through South Williamsport, Duboistown, Williamsport, Loyalsock, Montoursville, Hughsville, and Muncy, according to Williamsport police.

State police involved shooting under investigation

WOLF TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials confirmed a state police-involved shooting is under investigation in Lycoming County.

The Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling confirmed with 28/22 News the office is investigating a state-police-involved shooting of 62-year-old Gary Lee McCartney.

The shooting occurred Saturday, September 7 at a mobile home on Boak Avenue in Wolf Township.

Motorcycle crash in Jersey Mills sends four to hospital

JERSEY MILLS, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say four people were sent to the hospital after a motorcycle crash in Lycoming County.

The Lycoming Regional Police Department says they were called to State Route 414 near Jersey Mills in Lycoming County for a reported crash involving three motorcycles.

Monroe County Coroner releases details after deadly Jackson Township crash

Authorities say four people were taken to a nearby hospital and their condition is unknown at this time.

One person transported after a stabbing in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One was transported after a late night stabbing Saturday night in Scranton.

Lackawanna County Center for Public Safety stated that police were called to 1200 block of Mulberry Street around 11:45 p.m. for a stab victim.

Death investigation underway in Lycoming County

Officials say one person was transported from the scene in unknown condition.

There is no word on if a suspect is in custody, or at large.

Scranton Police Department is handling the investigation.

According to a release by Pennsylvania State Police, troopers are investigating a death near Boak Ave. in Hughesville.

Roofer dies after falling from ladder in Clinton County

Authorities say this is an isolated incident, and that there is no threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released.
