Fifth arrest made in Williamsport double homicide

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A fifth person has been arrested for their alleged involvement in a Williamsport double homicide.

The Williamsport Bureau of Police has charged Stacey King, 56, of Williamsport, the fifth person in connection with the deaths of Alisha Seese and Ronald Dailey back in January.

The Lycoming County District Attorney stated on January 12, the bodies of 37-year-old Alisha Seese and 37-year-old Ronald Dailey were found in a vehicle on Terrace Place early that morning.

PSP: Two dead after fleeing PSP, crashing into buildings

LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A car fleeing a traffic stop Friday morning crashed into multiple buildings and killed both occupants of the vehicle, according to state police.

State police say they were conducting speed enforcement in the area of the Faxon Avenue Exit on State Route 180, Loyalsock Township, around 12:50 a.m. when they attempted to stop a vehicle for driving at high speeds.

Route 220 Bridge Improvement Project continues next week

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A bridge improvement project that was on hiatus during the winter months is starting back up in Lycoming County.

Drivers traveling Route 220 in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, are advised by The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) that the bridge replacement and rehabilitation project will continue next week.

Police investigate repeated catalytic converter thefts

JERSEY SHORE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police say they are investigating the repeated theft of catalytic converters in the central Pa. region. 

Around 5:30 a.m. March 9, police say two people reported their catalytic converters were cut from their cars on Oak Street and Oliver Street in Jersey Shore Borough. 

These vehicles are the most targeted for catalytic converter thefts

According to the Lycoming County Regional Police Department, additional thefts were reported in Pine Creek Township and Lock Haven in Clinton County.  

Upcoming road closure in Lycoming County

PINE TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced there will be a road closure in Pine Township next week.

According to PennDOT, drivers are being advised that a portion of Route 284 will be closed next week in Pine Township, Lycoming County.

Officials say from March 18 through March 22 Route 287 and the Route 15 interchange at Buttonwood while in PennDOT maintenance crew collects core borings from the bridge that carries Route 284 over Blacks Creek.

OLYPHANT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report that a fire at an Olyphant home was no accident.

The fire marshal stated a child, playing with a lighter, set fire to a couch at a home at Walsh Plaza in Olyphant Wednesday morning.

Upcoming road closure in Lycoming County

A mother and her two children managed to escape but the children had to be checked at the hospital for smoke inhalation, PSP stated.

There was fire damage to the living room and smoke damage throughout, while homes on either side were untouched.

PennDOT crews cleaning up litter in Lycoming County

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — To improve the environment and clean up local roadways, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crews in Lycoming County began picking up litter this week along Interstate 180 (I-180) in both directions.

PennDOT crews began the litter pickup on I-180 on Monday, March 11, and will continue to do so through Friday, March 22, during daylight hours, weather permitting.

Residents displaced, dog rescued from Loyalsock Township fire

LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Firefighters rescued a dog from a fire that left a home destroyed in Loyalsock Township.

Authorities were called to the 2000 block of Northway Road at 2:51 p.m. Thursday for a reported structure fire in Loyalsock Township.

Fire Chief Rich Caschera Jr. of the Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company told 28/22 News the fire was determined to be a total loss.

LOYALSOCK TWP., LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are charging a man after they say he made threats against a school in Pennsylvania.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on March 6 around 8:45 a.m., troopers were called for a man making threatening gestures of firing a gun on school grounds, while holding a dark object in his hand.

LOYALSOCK TWP., LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a woman was taken into custody in connection to a deadly shooting that killed a 15-year-old boy in front of TGI Friday's.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Wednesday a woman identified as Johneice Francin Legare, 37, of Williamsport, was taken into custody on hindering apprehension charges.

PD: Four pickpocketers wanted for questioning in fraud scheme

On March 2 state police were called to East Third Street in Loyalsock Township in the parking lot of TGI Fridays.
