Shooting under investigation in Luzerne County

DENNSION TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation is underway in Dennison Township after a Saturday evening shooting.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a man with a gunshot wound knocked on his neighbor's door just after 5:00 p.m. on Natures Lane.

White Haven Police Department responded to the scene while Pennsylvania State Police was requested by the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office to takeover the investigation.

One man dead after Route 11 crash Friday night

UNION TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have identified a man that died in a crash along Route 11 late Friday night.

Troopers identified the man as 56-year-old Michael Faruolo.

Officials say Faruolo was traveling southbound along PA-11 just before 10:30 p.m. when he left the west-side of the roadway in his 2011 Toyota Rav4.

Burnt Norton in Downtown Wilkes-Barre prepared a Thanksgiving breakfast for three downtown Wilkes-Barre senior living apartments.

Thanks to the community, hundreds of residents at B'nai Birth, Washington Square, and Allied Services were treated to a Thanksgiving breakfast which included a coffee breakfast sandwich and even hashbrowns.

I-476 northbound reopened after reported incident

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — As of 3:00 p.m. 28/22 News can report that all roadways have been reopened after a reported incident on Interstate 476.

According to the Luzerne County Communication Center, Interstate 476 northbound was shut down around 1:00 p.m.

PA511 stated that an incident had occurred on Interstate 476 South near the Wilkes-Barre Interchange and all lanes were closed.

Man arrested for allegedly assaulting two women, police

WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted two women and fought with police during his arrest.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, on November 25 officers were called to a scene in the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre Township.

People from the community came out to decorate Christmas trees with different themes.

The event raises money for local charities.

So far, it's raised over 500 thousand dollars over its 29-year run.
