St. Paul's church in Hazleton went up in flames Saturday night, drawing a third alarm response from firefighters.
The Hazleton Area Public Library sits just feet from the church, but swift response from first responders prevented any serious damage.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's been a month since one of two giant sinkholes opened up on the same street in Wilkes-Barre. People who live there are frustrated by the inconvenience it's caused.
On Monday, they got some clarity on when their lives may return to normal.
The idea was to gather everyone involved in fixing the sinkhole, gas and water companies, the city's engineer, and the mayor, and answer questions from neighbors about their disruptive road closure.

Plains Township Police were called to State Route 315, Fox 56, for a caller stating "send everyone." The caller reached out to 9-1-1 a second time, claiming he was avoiding someone trying to kill him and threw a brick through a window to gain entry, police stated.

MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's not every day you get to see animatronic dinosaurs, but that's what lots of families got to see on Sunday in Mountain Top.
The parking lot at Malacari's Ice Cream and Mini-golf turned into a sight from the Jurassic period. Visitors were able to get up close with these creatures of the past.
Triceratops, T-Rexes, and a stegosaurus visited Mountain Top for the first time.
Those brave enough to get close were able to watch the animatronics move right in front of them.

SLOCUM TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are asking for help to find who vandalized a park near Wapwallopen.
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say it happened overnight at Slocum Township Memorial Park.
Troopers say someone used a gator utility vehicle or something similar to rip a fence out of the ground.

The vandal or vandals also did donuts on the soccer field, digging up the turf, according to state police.
