WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after allegedly attacking another man with an aluminum baseball bat on Wednesday.
Officers were dispatched to a home on South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the release.
The victim told police he had gotten into a verbal argument with 33-year-old Alijah Grier-Wright of Wilkes-Barre.

The victim said Grier-Wright then retrieved a bat and struck him several times with it.
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing charges after allegedly firing multiple shots inside a house in Scranton on Wednesday night.
Police were dispatched to Deacon Street in Scranton after multiple neighbors reported hearing shots being fired rapidly inside a residence. It was also reported that the suspect, Alex Javier Ferreira, had a revolver and had threatened people with the weapon in the past, the criminal complaint states.
JENKINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County man faces time in prison for drug conspiracy offenses.
38-year-old Ryan Medar of Jenkins Township was sentenced Wednesday to 134 months of imprisonment and four years of supervised release for distributing cocaine and over 50 grams of methamphetamine, according to a release from the Department of Justice.
Wanted suspect after home break-in leads to stolen car
UNION TOWNSHIP, UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man from Union County was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday.
65-year-old Craig Derk of Winfield was driving on Trutt Road in Union Township on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. when a deer wandered into the roadway. Police say Derk was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with his motorcycle.

According to the police report, Derk then lost control of his vehicle. He was thrown off the motorcycle and left lying in the middle of the roadway.
HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Locust Street in Hazleton between Diamond Avenue and 15th Street will be converted into a one-way street with traffic flowing south starting September 29.
According to Hazleton City Police, no one will be allowed to travel north on Locust Street between Diamond Avenue and 15th Street beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29.
