Man facing home invasion charges in Hanover Township

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A home invasion investigation in Luzerne County ended with one man locked up. Hanover Township police arrested 36-year-old Joshua Vezo on Sunday.

Officers were called overnight to the crime scene on Lincoln Drive, but Vezo wasn't there.

They say they tracked him down at Sans Souci Trailer Court and took him into custody.

Vezo faces several charges, including criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and public drunkenness.

EXETER, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two local businesses are feeling the impact of a car crash, one day after it happened. 28/22 News checked out progress being made on Sunday at the building that houses Closet Clothes Outs and Dollar General in Exeter.

A UGI crew was busy making repairs to a gas line, and contractors were fixing a hole in a side wall that a driver hit early Saturday morning.

MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A community celebration in Mountain Top honoring four decades of childcare and a young girl's brave fight against cancer.

Families turned out at the Mountain Top Hose Company for food, crafts, and carnival games all to mark the 40th anniversary of "Mountain Top Kids."

Saturday was also about eleven-year-old Braelynn McCarroll, who's battling a rare form of brain cancer.

A portion of the event's profits will help her family cover medical expenses.

Crash into building causes gas leak, building shut down

EXETER, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A person was sent to the hospital after driving into a building along Wyoming Avenue Saturday morning, according to Wyoming Area Regional Police Department.

28/22 News found UGI crews on-scene around noon working to repair a gas pipe after a crash Saturday morning.

Wyoming Area Regional Police Chief Michael Turner says the driver struck a gas pipe causing a severe gas leak inside and around the building.
