Arrest made, heavy police presence in Courtdale

COURTDALE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police investigated an incident in Courtdale Thursday night that led to an arrest.

28/22 News was there as police were on the scene at the 100 block of Cooper Street in Courtdale around 10:40 p.m.

Two allegedly steal cooking oil from Tom's Kitchen

CONYNGHAM BOROUGH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men were arrested after police said they were caught stealing cooking oil from Tom's Kitchen in Luzerne County.

According to the Conyngham Borough Police Department, on October 23, around 6:00 a.m., officers were called to investigate a cooking oil theft at Tom's Kitchen on State Route 93.

Police say the owner of the restaurant drove into the parking lot and saw a white van near the waste oil holding tank.

Man charged with theft from Kingston mayor's vehicle

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in custody after police say he gained entry and stole from a Luzerne County mayor's vehicle.

According to Kingston Police, officers were called to South Welles Avenue around 4:15 a.m. when a resident stated "someone broke into the mayor's truck".

Upon arrival, officers say they witnessed the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Jarod Hospodar, looking into an unoccupied vehicle.
