DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Elsewhere, children filled up their baskets for another Easter egg hunt.

It's billed as the Bunny Hunt at Saint Anthony's playground in Dunmore.

Organizers say it took a matter of minutes for kids to grab all of the three-thousand eggs filled with candy and prizes.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Some mild temperatures combined with an Easter tradition brought out a big crowd to downtown Wilkes-Barre.

City firefighters gave the Easter bunny a lift for the downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Association's annual Easter egg hunt.

Hundreds of kids and their parents filled the square as children went in search of thousands of candy-filled, colorful plastic eggs.

Police investigating report of shots fired at local bar

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police are investigating a report of shots fired at a local bar early Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Cordaro of the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, units were called at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning to Beer Boys for a report of shots fired.

Cordaro says that no one was injured at the scene.

When 28/22 News was at the scene, we observed what looked to be a bullet hole in the second floor window.

Wilkes-Barre Police Department is investigating the report of shots fired.

Meet your new Luzerne County Coroner!

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— We begin with a new Luzerne County Coroner and it's not the first time he's made news in NEPA.

He's a former local police officer was once on the wrong side of the law, but now says he's ready to turn the page.

Dion Fernandes was appointed Luzerne County Coroner Friday afternoon.

He's a former Pittston City Police Officer and current president of a local funeral home.

Fernandes says stepping into this position carries out a similar role he has fulfilled for decades of his life.

Italian shop rebounding for Easter after December fire

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A local Italian specialty shop is serving up another popular holiday meal, Easter pizza!

Sabatelle's Market in Pittston is known for its specialty meats and cheeses, but during lent, it's all about the Easter pizza.

It's made with lean imported ham, a secret selection of cheeses, and a peppercorn baked crust.

The shop was forced to close its doors for several months after a devastating fire next-door on December 23.
