WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say one person is dead after a fire on Sunday in Luzerne County.
The Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department responded to a call for a second-alarm fire at a home on East South Street in Wilkes-Barre around 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to Chief Jay Delaney.
Officials say the fire department arrived minutes after the call and found flames coming from the third floor. Firefighters found a victim on the third floor, deceased.

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT is warning drivers to take alternate routes in Luzerne County throughout this week due to scheduled lane restrictions.
Lanes on Interstate 81 northbound between the Nuangola and Wilkes-Barre exits will be closed Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for bridge repairs.

Lane restrictions will also be in effect on Interstate 80 westbound between the Interstate 81 and Nescopeck exits Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for dead tree removal.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Flu season is almost here, and the city of Wilkes-Barre wants to keep people safe.
A flu vaccine clinic was held at the farmers' market on the Public Square on Thursday.
People of all ages living in the city were able to receive a free flu shot.
The city health department's "Bee healthy" bus was also present, providing free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings throughout the day on Thursday.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A delectable annual Greek food festival is back in Wilkes-Barre.
The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on East Ross Street is serving up classic Greek dishes.
Everything from baclava, to gyros, cheese pie, even dessert.
The festival is take-out only, and pre-orders by phone or online at least two hours in advance are encouraged.
Raising awareness for domestic violence victims
The food festival is the main event for the church to raise funds every year.
