Thousands still without power after thunderstorms

(WBRE/WYOU) — Thunderstorms came and went for Central Pennsylvania, but thousands are still without power in several counties Tuesday night.

As of 11:40 p.m., PPL says that over 7,300 customers across the 28/22 News viewing area were without power. The area most impacted by power outages is Northumberland County, with over 2,800 without power, according to PPL.

NWS lifts severe thunderstorm warnings for Central PA

(WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) announced Tuesday multiple severe thunderstorm warnings as storms made their way through Pennsylvania.

Issued by the NWS, severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect Tuesday until 9:00 p.m.

Lycoming County

Monroe County

Montour County

Northumberland County

Snyder County

Union County

Details released on Lycoming County homicide investigation

LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There are new details in a homicide investigation out of Lycoming County.

On Sunday morning, troopers were called to Liberty Lodge, a motel on East Third Street in Loyalsock Township.

Police say two guests, 46-year-old Robert Bohart of New York, and 52-year-old Shannon Bowes, got into a fight.

School vehicle driver, student dead, two hospitalized after crash

It ended when police say Bohart stabbed Bowes in his motel room.

Ballot issues overshadow upcoming voting deadlines

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania's primary election is coming up, and officials are urging voters to stay on top of deadlines, especially with a ballot printing error affecting hundreds in Lackawanna County.

Between voter registration, mail-in ballots, and primary day itself, there are several important deadlines that are quickly approaching, and for some scranton republicans, a corrected ballot should be in the mail

The primary election is May 20, and Lackawanna County's election office is reminding voters to act now.

School vehicle driver, student dead, two hospitalized after crash

SULLIVAN TOWNSHIP, TIOGA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say a driver and child are dead while two other children were hospitalized after a Sullivan Township crash Tuesday afternoon.

State Police say they were called to a crash at the intersection of Route 6 West and Bailey Road at about 2:20 p.m.

A Towanda Area School District vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 6 while a commercial vehicle was traveling Westbound, according to state police.
