Three dead in early-morning Bradford County crash

ATHENS TWP, Pa. (WETM) — Three people are dead in Bradford County after a single-car crash in Athens Township blocked traffic for much of the morning.

According to the Athens Township Police Department, three people died in a crash when their car was going south on Riverside Drive along the Susquehanna River around 2:39 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, when it lost control and struck two parked trucks.

Police say the car was moving quickly when it lost control and went into the parked vehicle.

Rental property concerns raised in Monroe County

POCONO MANOR, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A rental property in the Poconos, not only do neighbors say it's noisy, but now potentially dangerous.

The property at 205 Lake Drive in the Pocono Manor neighborhood has been reported to the police more than a dozen times.

Neighbors say the noise from the renters is out of control.

On an evening in February, neighbors say there was a violent incident in which a gun was shot at the property in which police responded.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Both Bob Casey and Dave McCormick have been hitting the campaign trail in recent days making several stops across the commonwealth.

The contest between Casey and McCormick is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

Casey is seeking his fourth term, he's also perhaps Pennsylvania's best-known politician, the son of a former two-term governor, and is Pennsylvania's longest-ever serving Democrat in the Senate.

Bob Casey and Republican challenger David McCormick will face each other in Pennsylvania's high-stakes U.S. Senate contest this fall, as Tuesday’s primary election put the men on track for a race that is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars and help decide control of the Senate next year.

Casey and McCormick won their respective party primary contests after they were uncontested and now enter what is likely to be a grueling, expensive and hard-fought 2024 general election campaign that culminates in the Nov. 5 vote.
