DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A railroad car in Northumberland County caught fire Monday night.
Authorities report crews were called to a railroad fire in Dewart in Delaware Township just after 8:00 p.m.

According to officials, the fire was contained to a single car and no hazmat crews were called to the scene.
Route 611 closure almost two years later in Monroe County
Officials say no injuries were reported in the incident and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

A popular amusement park opened its doors Saturdayday for the 98th season and the rainy weather didn't put a damper on it being a successful opening day.
Here at Knoebles for the opening day and despite this wet weather hundreds of people showed up to have a good time.
Opening day usually draws a crowd of people looking to kick off the start of warm weather. even though it was a rainy day that did not stop people from near and far from coming out.

MCADOO, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A brush fire started up Friday afternoon in Schuylkill County.
According Schuylkill County Communications, Crews were called to the 800 block of Trescow Road at 2:23 p.m. for a brush fire.

Controlled burn scheduled in Northumberland County
Officials say there is no one injured, and as of 5:30 p.m. first responders had the fire 75% contained.
McAdoo Fire Company is leading the response on-scene.

According to PennDOT drivers who travel through Route 487 are advised that the Elysburg Fire Department will perform a controlled burn on Saturday, May 4, at 372 Route 487, located east of the former Boyer's Market.

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— State police say they are investigating who may have stolen donations from two Northumberland County churches.
Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, in Jordan Township, and Zion Church, in Herndon Borough, both reported having donations stolen from their places of worship in April.

According to Russell Wertz, Second Assistant Chief of Sunbury, crews were called to the intersection of South 7th and Chestnut Street just before 4:00 p.m. for a working second alarm fire.

Upon arrival, first responders said there was a lot of smoke and fire near the back of the residence.
Multiple streets were shut down to set up the fire scene, according to Wertz.

COAL TWP., NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been charged with smashing out a police cruiser's window with his head during an arrest, police stated.
According to the Coal Township Police Department, around 4:30 p.m. on April 15, officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of West Walnut Street.
Police say 28-year-old Nakii Williams of Coal Township was intoxicated and screaming in the street. Officers said they were placing Williams in custody when they told him multiple times to stop screaming, however, he refused.
