Man heads to trial on aggravated assault charges after Kingston stabbing

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man will stand trial on charges that he allegedly stabbed another man in Kingston back in August.

22-year-old Ryan McCawley Mathis, of Plains Township, was in Luzerne County Central Court in Wilkes-Barre Tuesday morning.

Police say he stabbed 20-year-old Aiden Gregorowicz several times during an altercation under the Pierce Street Bridge on August 30.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A teenager is being charged with robbing a Wilkes-Barre pharmacy for a box of syringes.

According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on Monday around 10:45 a.m., officers were called to Harold's Pharmacy on Old River Road for a report of a robbery.

Once on the scene, officers said the victim claimed the suspect entered the business and asked to be given a syringe.

According to the Scranton Police Department, on October 12, officers were called to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City for a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

WILKES-BARRE, TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for two people who they say are part of an organized retail theft ring, hitting stores across multiple states.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, on September 22, the two people pictured below stole an electric scooter and various furniture items from Target.

The theft totaled a loss of $939.98 and officers say the suspects fled in the vehicle pictured.

TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman is being accused of stealing a bag at a store in the Pocono Premium Outlets.

According to the Pocono Township Police Department, a theft occurred on October 10, around 12:40 p.m. at the Old Navy store in the Pocono Premium Outlets.

Police say the victim placed her bag on the ground while shopping and a woman, pictured below, picked up the victim's bag.

Man arrested, allegedly threatening two by firing gun

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at two people and other related charges.

According to Butler Township Police Department, on October 11, William Joseph Everett, 55, of Drums, accused two victims of stealing from his home.

Police say Everett then fired a shot into a couch and threatened to burn some of the victim's belongings by using an aerosol can as a blowtorch.
