(WBRE/WYOU) — After a mild stretch of weather over the past several days, temperatures are expected to be more seasonable as we flip the calendar to October.
High temperatures Wednesday afternoon could reach the upper 60s to 70°.
With a clear sky, light winds, and low dew points, temperatures might quickly fall overnight with lows expected to be in the mid 30s to 40°.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two people in northeastern and central Pennsylvania called 911 multiple times for non-emergency purposes.
According to releases from Lycoming and Schuylkill Counties, two individuals are facing charges for making non-emergency 911 calls.
A criminal complaint from Lycoming County says 36-year-old Jessica Baxter called 911 centers 12 times in a two-week span.
The complaint says Baxter made those calls while she was intoxicated and wanted someone to hang out with and talk to her.

(WBRE/WYOU) — It was another successful 28/22 Coats For Kids Campaign is in the books. Your generosity helped nearly 800 children in Northeastern Pennsylvania stay warm this winter. It's an effort that will make a big difference for people in need in our community.
One by one, coats piled up in Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, and Stroudsburg. Some gently used, many right off the rack.
All donations for our Fourth Annual Coats for Kids Campaign to benefit local children in need this winter.

FRANKLIN TWP., CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police confirm five people were killed in a house fire early Wednesday morning that included four children.
Pennsylvania State Police and Carbon County Coroner, Mark Smith, state that a total of five people were killed: one woman, three boys, and one girl were found dead.
Shortly after midnight, the coroner's office was called to the 0 hundred block of Willow Street in Franklin Township for a reported house fire involving fatalities.
