Coalcracker culture on display in Foster Township

FOSTER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — In Foster Township, the Eckley Miners' Village is showcasing vibrant coal-cracker culture, celebrating 35 years of Patchtown Days.

More than 20 vendors filled the historic coal town on Sunday with music, re-enactments, and traditional crafts on display.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's all about dads Sunday, and one group did something different to celebrate: A walk for fathers, led by fathers. In Scranton, the Fathers Matter Support Group at Outreach Center for Community Resources held its first-ever Father's Day Walk.

It's a grant-funded event with a goal of giving dads a voice and a space to heal.

Community rallies to support Mountain Top restaurant owners, staff

RICE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A feel-good, hometown event is still ongoing in our area as the community comes together to help one of their own.

After a devastating fire at Adelina's Restaurant and Pizzeria in Mountain Top last month, friends, neighbors, and businesses all rallied to support the owners and staff while they work to rebuild.

It was a heartbreaking loss last month when Adelina's went up in flames.

A fire started in the kitchen around 4:00 a.m. while bread was being prepared. Within 45 minutes, the entire building was fully engulfed.
