LAKE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Pittston Township Police say they have charged a 40-year-old man with sexually assaulting a teenager on multiple instances, who later became pregnant.
Ryan McDermott allegedly sexually assaulted and recorded several instances that took place across multiple Luzerne County hotels.
Police say they first became aware of the incident when contacted by a college police department in Illinois.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The federal government lowered interest rates on mortgages this week for the first time since December.

PINE TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State Police are investigating the death of a teen in Columbia County after his death was ruled a homicide.
Officials say EMS was dispatched to a residence in Pine Township around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, where they found a boy deceased. State police and the Columbia County Coroner's office also responded to the home.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two business owners, one from Lackawanna County, have pleaded guilty after investigators say failed to pay employment taxes.
34-year-old Vincent Guntur, of Dunmore, and 65-year-old Angelica Jones, of Hauppauge, New York, owned and operated four companies, Mega & G Inc., Yoagen LLC, Phoenix 89 LLC, and Starlight & Sun Inc. from 2018 through the third quarter of 2024.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police report a man has been arrested after a drug bust revealed he was selling crystal meth out of an abandoned warehouse.
Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian J. Gallagher says 44-year-old Earl Locklear of Scranton was arrested after a drug trafficking investigation.
