EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT announced speed limit and lane restrictions early Christmas Eve morning due to the winter weather conditions. These restrictions have been lifted and are no longer in effect.
The following roads had their speed limit reduced to 45 mph and commercial vehicles restricted to the right lane only:
Interstate 80 in Luzerne County.
Interstate 81 from Schuylkill County to the New York state line in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Susquehanna Counties.
Interstate 84 in Lackawanna, Pike, and Wayne Counties.

NEWPORT TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A massive fire is lighting up the night sky in Luzerne County.
The Luzerne County Communication Center says the call came in just before 9:00 p.m. Monday for a building on South Market Street in Glen Lyon.
Multiple crews are on the scene helping to fight the fire and working to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
It appears that the fire has spread through the entire second floor of the building.
