MORELAND TWP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a woman has lost $16,000 after she was part of a gift card scam.
According to state police, a 71-year-old woman was contacted via email saying her bank account had been falsely charged by PayPal.

The victim was told she would have to pay a certain amount in gift cards to resolve the issue.
The victim eventually paid the $16,000 in gift cards and lost access to the money.

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation is underway after a man died after being hit by a car.
According to the Lycoming County Coroenr's Office, on January 5 Gerard Miles, 52, of Williamsport was hit by a car in the area of Ward Street and Washington Boulevard.

Investigators say Miles was crossing Washington Boulevard when he was hit by a vehicle around 10:00 p.m. Officials noted that Miles was wearing dark clothes and under the influence of alcohol.
