Paddlers made a five-mile journey down the Lackawanna River from Riverfront Park in Dickson City to Sweeney's Beach in Scranton.
A post-paddle event was held, featuring live music, food vendors, and educational exhibits promoting environmental awareness.

HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County run benefiting first responders is no longer a race of the past. Hundreds of runners stepped off in the Back Mountain Saturday morning for the first time in a decade.
A sea of more than 300 runners lapped around the lakeshore Saturday morning.
8.2 miles made up the Harveys Lake Run that returned to the Back Mountain for the first time in 12 years.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The community shifted its support from people in running shoes to members in marching boots. The Annual Northeast Pennsylvania Armed Forces Day Parade kicked off immediately after the race.
Military service members of all branches marched the route that began at Gino J. Merli Veterans Center on Penn Ave in Scranton and extended to the city's Courthouse Square.
Supporters lined the streets to cheer on those who serve.

The race, Heroes of All Kinds 5K Run and Walk, stepped off in downtown Scranton Saturday morning.
'helping heroes nepa' hosted the event to raise money for veterans and first responders facing financial stress such as medical bills.
Roughly 150 registered participants raced through city streets, with trophies awarded to top finishers in several categories.

Farmers Inn in Shavertown hosted its first-ever Karaoke for a Cause, supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP.)

A 10$ entry got visitors into karaoke and basket raffles, with all proceeds going directly to the AFSP.
Farmers Inn also made a separate $5,000 donation directly to the foundation.

Survivors shared stories of recovery while connecting with care providers who saved their lives.
Organizers say the event is important because they can only do so much in the hospital to help survivors.
